Red Lion Spicy Foods Company was established in 1998 by Chip Welsh. Chip had been growing chiles in his home garden in Red Lion, PA for several years, using the crop to produce a wide variety of fresh, home-made chile products. Festivals
The Original Houston Hot Sauce Festival, an annual event "Always in September", featuring hot sauce, salsa, chipotle, jams, spices, marinades, chips, dips and more fiery food products. Thousands of Chiliheads pour into the Arena to sample 100's of award winning products. There's also ongoing stage entertainment, free kids activities, cold drinks, a wide variety of food, "amateur salsa competition", contests, prizes, arts & crafts, pepper merchandise, and more.... It all began in 1997 when Jim and Debbie Morrison purchased a 172-acre, quarter section of land in East Central Minnesota. The land was once a family farm, but all of the original buildings had long been removed. Since purchasing the land, Jim and Debbie have turned the old farm land into a home and small business offering Real Maple Syrup and Honey. They have also added a bunch of apple trees that will offer over 36 varieties of Apples and will soon be offering sausage as well! Check them out for some good treats!!
